This is my first successful tube amplifier that pushed the limits of what was possible. And the tube sound was also here researched instrumentally. This amplifier is the basis for all following constructions. Here it is presented as an example of an amplifier realization.

I believe that the main thing if you want to hear a tube amplifier is that you just have to assemble it yourself - and that's why I assembled all of these devices myself. Time factor: I am convinced that within a week of assembling one of the above machines, you will hear a tube sound. The only way to learn the rightness is to build a machine then to listen.

It is evident that a tube amplifier can be make a reality in diverse outer forms. External elements (controls and terminals) everyone will do things in his own way according to his own preferences and ideas. All amplifiers thus reflect the individuality of the creator.

My notion of ​​the components for success

  • A clear understanding of things: half the thing,
  • Practical knowledge: 10%,
  • Circuit design: 10%,
  • Topology of components: 10%,
  • Modern hardware: that remains.

In accordance with the split of the working hours to produce a usable object, the greatest expenditure was incurred in creating a high-quality power supply for а tube amplifier.

Power supply unit guarantees the safe run of a device and also gift a long life for vacuum tubes.

The assembly and tuning of the devices are required theoretical education and practical knowledge

In addition, it is required according to your concept:

  • High frequency main filter;
  • Low noise fan;
  • Suitable metal box (enclosure), something like external control knobs and other little things.

To building the SoundBar MR, you must also have:
Two output transformers SE of 50 mA up to 60 mA DC
with a primary impedance of 5.500 up to 8.000 ohms.
Full range speakers with low THD are a rational option.
